Desperately Seeking Caption

July 3, 2007

Lost Gladiator

Just your average pedestrian at a Roman intersection. I caught him from the passenger side of our car.

Now, I know that my readers are a witty bunch, and I can always use a laugh or two. Could you entertain me by leaving a comment with a caption for this photo? Much obliged.

Here’s my best shot:

“The soldiers all cheered when Caesar decided to issue color-coordinated Samsonites for returning home from battle.”

Your turn!

    Dude, where’s my chariot?

I just got back from defeating Cleo and Antony in Egypt. The least Augustus could do is send a ride to pick me up. Wait he’s out of office? What century is this?

Time travel is rough, but at least I picked up this nice bag along the way.

I really liked Sara’s the best: “Stupid chariot strike.” :) Oh Italy and their strikes!

    Press Release….

US based company Naturalizer, in an effort to boost sales in Europe, has tried to put an end to the myth that tourists in Rome should not wear sandals, by implementing an ad campaign placing paid gladiators around Rome wearing their latest model white comfy sandal appropriately titled “Gladiators”. They retail for $49.95.
